Polar Chase (12-13 Dec 2026)

Description

The Polar Chase is the third event of the 2026/27 Navigators & General SailJuice Winter Series, bringing the fleet to Chasewater Reservoir in the West Midlands.

The established Polar Chase format combines two different styles of racing. A pursuit race gives the slower classes an early advantage before the faster boats begin the chase, while an average-lap handicap race uses Great Lakes Handicaps to calculate the corrected results.

This varied format tests different skills and gives boats from across the handicap range an opportunity to feature at the front. SailJuice GPS tracking adds another dimension, enabling the progress of competitors around the reservoir to be followed and analysed.

About The Chase Sailing Club

The Chase Sailing Club is based on Chasewater Reservoir near Chasetown in Staffordshire. The reservoir provides an open inland race area with room to create interesting courses for a diverse handicap fleet.

The friendly club has an active racing community and experience in welcoming large open-meeting entries. Its volunteers provide an enthusiastic welcome both afloat and ashore, helping the Polar Chase establish itself as a popular part of the SailJuice Winter Series.
