Description
The Datchet Flyer brings the Navigators & General SailJuice Winter Series to the Queen Mother Reservoir for a full weekend of racing on one of the UK’s largest inland sailing waters.
The established event format combines a series of average-lap handicap races with a 100-minute pursuit race. Saturday rewards consistent starting, speed and decision-making across several handicap races, before Sunday brings the fleet together for a pursuit in which every class has the opportunity to lead.
With long legs, open-water conditions and boats of very different speeds sharing the course, the Datchet Flyer provides a challenging and exciting weekend of winter racing.
About Datchet Water Sailing Club
Datchet Water Sailing Club is based at the Queen Mother Reservoir near Windsor. The elevated reservoir offers an exceptionally large and unobstructed race area, often producing stronger and steadier winds than many smaller inland venues.
The club is experienced in running major open meetings and mixed-fleet handicap racing. Its large clubhouse overlooks the reservoir, while extensive launching and shore facilities help it accommodate a substantial and diverse SailJuice fleet.
